Daily intake of protein/calories/carbs/fat.... what does your Dr recommend?

I am sure along my journey my dietitian and my surgeon have both told me... but I seem to have blocked it out somewhere along the way. Probably during "The Great Leak" when I stuck my head in the sand.

The past month I have been "low carbing" it trying to get back on track and have lost some of my re-gained weight.

Right now I average:
Protein: 90-110g
Calories: 1000-1200
Carbs: 35g
Fat: 40-50g

I am pretty sure my fat is too high, and it is EXTREMELY hard to keep my carbs that low. Please share with me what your Dr recommends for daily intake. Thanks.

50 carbs a day... totally do-able. I like that number much better. :o)

I also never thought of chaning my intake according to whether or not I exercise. 800 seems low to me though. I will have to ask my NUT about that.

My Dr doesn't really give out specific numbers, he says if we are sticking to the 3-4 oz by weight of protein, then 1-2 oz of veggie or fruit,  3 x a day, we will do fine.

Never counted anything except calories. And I think there is a UK /US difference as over here the firm advice is that we should never go below 1200 unless we are taking all sorts of supplements. But I know lots of US bandsters do eat less - these medical people never agree!!!

But I lost all my excess weight in 15+ months on 1200 a day, sometimes more! So fast enough for me!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Lori,

Thanks for posting this question.  Like you, I know my surgeons office gave me guidelines to follow, and I know i have them at home in a big binder with all of my other surgery info, so I think I will take that binder out and look that info up.

Seems like everyone hovers somewhere around 1,000 calories... I will post the info I have in my surgical binder as soon as I find it.

GOOD LUCK TODAY with your port replacement!!  Sending good vibes your way!!
