Can anyone offer me some suggestions until I get an unfill???
I'm pretty sure, okay definitely sure I'm a little too tight and I have a call into the Dr. But since he is only in Mon & Tues, I'm expecting not to get any relief until Monday at the earliest
In the meantime can anyone offer me some advice to get through the weekend without vomiting or being as completely miserable as I am now? I can drink water in very small sips and maybe a HALF bite of yogurt as a meal, but that's it! I attempted to eat some cod (unbreaded of course) I stopped eating after 4 teeny tiny bites and within 15 minutes I was miserable with pain & tightness in my chest. Went to the commode, coughed real hard it came back up very easily.
I have vomited so much over the past 3 days that my throat is SOOOOO sore, I made me some hot tea to sip & that definitely brought some relief. AMEN! It's so weird, last Monday at my appointment I felt like I had hit that ever so sought after "sweet spot" and suggested I not come back for 4 weeks. I was losing good and feeling satisfied after minimal amounts of food. Did have 2 vomiting episodes the week before my appt. but assumed it was lack of chewing or breaks between bites. My doc suggested a slight unfill but I said ABSOLUTELY NOT! Up until the last 3 weeks ALL of my loss has been because of my madness for exercising because I didn't have good restriction & was struggling to make good food choices. Just as I'm sure most of us are I am TERRIFIED to see the scale go back up! All I'm eating now are those 2 words!!!!
If I have to resort to sipping water & tea for 2 days to not cause any damage to my band (hopefully I haven't already), I guess I have no choice but does anyone have anything other to suggest???

Have you called his office already? Usually someone covers. or there is an answering service who will pass a message on... and maybe he will call back or recommend something.
You need to be able to get fluid in...You might even want to head to the ed and see if they can help at all...
I do hope you feel better....

I have his cell number for emergencies so left a message about 60 minutes ago. I've called him 2 times before so I'm pretty sure he will get back to me ASAP. I live in the sticks so I'm pretty sure the ED would be clueless? I wasn't even sure if this is an emergency since I can drink water & tea in sips? I know I have read post where some can't even do that.
Thanks for your advice, if I don't hear back or get any relief after tonight I'll be driving into the city to the ED in the a.m.

The only thing I can think of if hot liquids when u drink. Several have mentioned on the forum that when they are tight in the a/m that they drink hot coffee or tea first ( I would suggest decaf!).
Also u might want to sleep in a recliner in a mostly up position or else with lots of pillows under your head.

I would definitely try to get a hold of your doctor. I would not try to eat at this point you will just irritate it more, stick to warm or hot liquids and try drinking the broth off cup of soup etc to help with hunger. I really hope you get a hold of your doctor and don't have to go all weekend with it too tight.

Hello...if you are that tight, don't eat solids period, just sip warm liquids very slowly like hot tea and broth, and get a heat pad and apply it to your chest, and you may want get some liquid Tylenol to try to reduce the swelling, and drink room temperature water only. Again DO NOT eat solids until you've seen your surgeon.
I just got a 9cc refill and let me tell you - the first 4 days were hellacious....I know exactly where you are...I was praying I would not need an unfill because I had 10ccs in my band before it got let go. Warm tea with honey - the shiznit....liquid ibuprofen will reduce swelling - definitely helped me - I bought children's motrin (good flavor) and sipped it - saved me. I made it through and now I am ok...the other thing - take a liquid vitamin now. When I got sick before (which forced me to get my band unfilled)....my electrolytes got all out of wack because I couldn't eat....I had to be admitted to the hospital - take a liquid vitamin with potassium and calcium - because those two go fast...standing up when you are drinking helped me too and raising your arms up (like you are under arrest helped too.
Thank you so much everyone for your support and helpful advice!!!! I am feeling much better today! My throat is still a little sore but the awful tightness/pain in my chest is very minimal. I watered down a protein shake and have been slowly sipping it for about the last 2 hours with no problems. No plans to try any food until I get into see my surgeon. Very suprised he never returned my call but who knows, life happens?
Thanks again everyone, I just LOVE this forum!!!
