Has anyone gone to True Results
As watching the commercial for weight loss through True Results, I decided with my husbands support to go ahead and start the process. I will say it has been a journey that I will always regret. My first part was to meet at the Conroe, Texas location in the actual Doctors office and they had an hours presentation. Okay, it was great - some things were explained, but then the journey began horrifying. I was told to show up at the downtown Main street location for the scope to find out if I have an Hernial Hernia, and after that was done, that evening, I saw that a call came in and listened to my voice mail from the Doctor stating that the instruments that was used were not sterilized properly. Ok, now I have to go get blood work and take time out of my job to get this done, then they said all is well, but now they make you do a sleep study and so that was another expense I had to come up with, then they results was positive - so off I go to a location in the Woodlands to get my CPAP machine, cause if I don't show up with that the surgery is stopped. Then you have to do a class for the IBand (which is the band and the inebriation of my stomach. (folding it over to make it not hold lots of food). Okay now through with that and starting with my liquid diet for 14 days, then for 3 days nothing by mouth until the 18th of December, (how stupid I was for not thinking of Christmas to be over ) I missed out on allot of good things.
Surgery day December 18, 2012: I was told to arrive at 6:00 am and go to the 8th floor, and check in, which took them over 2 hours to get that process completed. It was now around 8:am, still waiting, and then another 2 hours came and finally I was called back to the area of the surgery where they are going to prep me - the RN's there are angels, but the nightmare is just about to start. I get a few words from the Doctor - of which now dawns on me that he just does this to get the "MONEY" and take a number kinda guy...I have one thing to say about this Doctor and his wife (RN) who run this Conroe, Texas facility is they are not very good in explaining anything, and they want you to do stuff that only staves you to death. In the class that this doctor teaches she doesn't like being asked questions but yet she wants you to call her and ask any questions you want. IF you are a dumbie don't bother, cause she makes you feel horrible about calling and asking questions. Then she tells her Doctor husband the wrong information, making it worst. I have been through so much over the last 2 weeks, that if they would take time with their patients instead of making it who's next office. You spend approximate 2 seconds in the room with the doctor with him just looking at the computer to see what he did to remind himself. Asking questions isn't good at this office for you might not get the right answer. With me I had pain so bad that it was hard for me to walk and caused me to go to the hospital 's ER for 7 hours last Saturday night, No one could explain and no one took their time to help me, they make you drink this horrible drink, see what is going on and then you're good to go, still in pain until I had my first post op vist on 1-2-2013. I tried to explain that I didn't want this port in and it was hurting so much, but because the Doctor had it in a very low area of my belly, it was like jello flopping around causing the flab to move and the muscles to hurt. THEN the doctor said to me, JUST Griddle UP...Ok now I am thinking, YOU STUPID PERSON, AND YOUR WIFE...WHY DIDN'T YOU PUT THAT INTO YOUR SO CALLED "BIBLE" OF WHAT TO DO AND WHAT NOT TO DO AFTER SURGERY. Then the doctor says to me - I think you need to give it some time. I got so upset that all the way home, I am still in pain of where he placed the port and with that CHIEF complaint it would be something that he would listen too. but NO he just brushed it off like it was a bug or something and it would go away like it came on. Maybe so, but the pain from a 1-10 is in the 11 range. NO people skills at all from the Conroe, Texas Location. I am so regret now in getting this procedure done.
I am 60 years old and with bad health and weight problems, so I need someone that is nice and kind instead of treating a patience like they don't give a DAMN. What really upset me is the Doctor states that you can't eat normal food for about 7 weeks, I told him how said that I was he looked at me and said my wife, I said your wife isn't telling the true. You could tell that he was angry with me so he just hurried up and didn't want to answer any of my pain questions but only to say, take some liquid pain medicine over the counter and give it some time. To make another statement, all I can say when you go to a meeting like for your first time, and the doctor only verifies your information and pushes you out the door once you enter, fly out of their and never look back, it's not worth the money. NO professional services at all. I can say that I had loose bawls, vomiting and fever and it seems that one one cares. Return calls is not this places protocol. I was told to come to see the Doctor at one o'clock on a Friday and I went and then I couldn't get in cause the office was closed, but the Doctor came and let me in, straight to the bathroom I went and then he called me back to the area where he could look at my stomach, I was there for only 5 mins and no solid true answers accept to say Don't drink anything for 7 hours and then go back to the drinking 1 oz every hour. Sure I lost weight, but the pain is still here and if in one month it isn't better the Band is coming out.
I hope this will help , but I think the office needs to have better instructions than what they give you, give you what types of food and how to cook or explain what will happen if you do or not do.
Horrible experience in Houston. I'm beginning question whether I actually had a hiatal hernia or not. Same issues as before (heartburn/acid reflux). My advocate told me they were in network with my insurance. Afterwards I found out they weren't. I paid over $5,000 with my insurance for the hernia repair & band. I should have only paid $3,000. They owe me $. I spoke to them & they claim that the extra $2500-$3,000 I paid was for the fills for 12mths. That was never told to me the day of. They are very unprofessional. They skirt around the truth. They will take your insurance, but they lie & deceive people just to get their $$$. After I filed a grievance with my insurance co, they told me it would have been covered 100% if I had gone to an in-network facility. By law True Results is supposed to tell patients their different options where insurance is concerned. They will not! Beware! I should be reimbursed over $5,000 but that'll never happen. Always contact your insurance co. first, lesson learned!
Last year I went to True Results and paid $5,000 for a gastric sleeve. It was performed by Dr. Amanda Parker at Memorial Hermann southeast Houston on July 26th, 2016. Two days later, I was sent home in horrible condition, could not keep anything down or in.
A day later I went to an emergency room at Clear Lake hospital. They kept me for 5 hours and sent me home.
Two days later, after no sleep and still not able to keep anything down, in or consume anything, I was back in the emergency room and stayed at Bay Area Regional Medical Center in Webster, Texas. I lost almost 40 pounds in less than 3 weeks while they were trying to find out what was wrong. After having to open me up, they found that Dr. Parker had sewn my stomach to my colon and it was causing obstruction. I finally left that hospital on August 12, 2016! Now, after over $300,000 being paid by BCBSTX and myself, and six months later, I am still trying to heal.
I called an attorney and they said they wouldn't take any case under a million dollars. I almost lost my life and was so ill for so long for a simple procedure that I thought would help make me feel better! I thought I would only spend $5,000 and now have spent so much more. I would think, BCBSTX would be questioning what the first doctor did to cause such a horrible thing to happen to a patient and such extensive costs. Yes, I lost 50 pounds now, but that was not the way I wanted to do that nor what it cost me, both financially and health-wise.. Do you plan to do anything about this? Can we
