Hi hon you know I feel for ya and absolutely understand. I know most folks don't want to hear what you have to say but it is true. For many of us the band was just a joke and does not work and it is NOT always our fault. I wish I could fix it for all of us that have so much trouble with our bands and yes I know of quite a few who no longer post because they are bashed everytime they do. One in particuloar I remember is Tonnabug who was run off with the bashing. So sad for one so young to have to face not only the obesity but bashing on top of it when she needed help. Anywayto you and  hope some how you'll be able to get a revision.

I recall when I was sooo sick with my band.  I was so malnourished and sick and dropping more pounds than I wanted, I looked like a crack ***** I was so thin. I was eating frozen frosting, anything loaded with sugar.  But it had to be liquids, I couldn't eat solids or even soft foods with an unfilled band.  I didn't have any clothes that fit and I couldn't walk far enough to go to a mall to buy more clothes.

I was waiting for my date for my revision.  I was not willing to have my band removed, regain, and then revise, I was only willing to switch to a surgery type where I could eat food in proper quantities.

The band grad group, OMG, what a freak'en joke.  One would think with all the people posting on the band grad group with problems and issues they would be just a bit more compassionate. They bashed me more than the folks here did. One girl wrote this long saga about how I was anorexic, it was all my fault, and I had body dysmorphia.  I was eating frosting for goodness sakes, just so I could stop losing.  That is not anorexia.  I found the people that bashed me the most were newbies insecure with their own decision or vets who never did well with the band. This vet was a person who never did well with a band.  After 2 years she only lost about 1/3 of her excess weight.  Vets at goal were cool, those who couldn't change their eating habits were nothing short of cruel.

Bashing someone with band problems is common.  I think this is the only surgery type where I see the mega bashing of those with issues.  It makes no sense to me.

That's when I came out fighting and when I see others bashing someone for daring to  have band issues... they need to be prepared to defend their stance because I will back them in a corner and make sure they know what an uneducated, mean spirited, ass that they are.

The band got me to goal, the sleeve will keep me there.

Oh this bandster bashing goes on all the time on here! Some of these ppl just get infuriated b/c ppl's bands don't work and they post that! Wtf?! This is the band forum! Why WOULDN'T I post it on here??? Why should any bandster NOT post it on here???

I don't get on here and tell them they are wrong b/c they think their band (working or not I might add!) is the most wonderfull thing in the world..............so why do some of them want to attack me b/c I hate mine b/c it is useless??? (Note to those that might b infuriated with that statement............MINE IS USELESS!!! Yours may not b..........BUT MINE IS USELESS!!!) If they like their band I am happy for them, if they have been successfull I am even happier for them! Why hate me b/c I am not happy with MY band?!?!?!

I just hope that those that have been so mean and nasty and attacked me b/c of what I post about my band experience remember all that they have said when it is THEIR band that they have a problem with!!! Hopefully ppl will not b as cruel to them when their band craps out!!!

Maria,

I keep asking, and you continue to ignore my questions, about what your surgeon has to say about your fabled lack of restriction.  What is your expectation of restriction anyway?  Do you think your band is going to put its hands around your throat and choke you while saying, "NO MORE FOOD!"?  Or what?  Is it possible that your surgeon chose the wrong band for you...in which case you need to complain to him, not us.  Is it possible that your surgeon hasn't given you adequate fills?  In which case, you need to complain to him, not us.,

And Maria, honey, using super-duper sized text in your OH posts does not make your message clearer.  It just makes it look jumbled and crazy.  And about the crazy part?  Don't ask me to go there.

Very nice, Maria.  It's always interesting to see potty-mouth emerge in people we thought were adults.

And that response certainly adds to your credibility here on OH.

So just keep it up - ignore sensible questions - embrace negativity - ignore input from people who might be able to help you....  Go on alone on your own miserable journey...

~So just keep it up - ignore sensible questions~

I didn't ignore sensible questions.............I ignored your questions. For some reason u seem to think I'm required to answer to u?!

~embrace negativity~

your the one embracing the band!

~ ignore input from people who might be able to help you~

I listen to those who might b able to help me. U don't fall into that catagory!

~Go on alone on your own miserable journey~

Well though the band has been a miserable journey.............I don't go it alone................I have some very supportive OH members that are very well aware of what the band can b like!

Have a nice night!

Well, y'all can get together and do your group hug while chanting, "It's not our fault, it's not our fault."

You suck!!

You seem to convince yourself that you are making logical inquiries, but really your tone is "It's really her fault that she didn't lose weight"  Not very nice or supportive.  You can try to convince yourself otherwise all day long, but your reply was insensitive and mean spirited to me.
