Oh and what Lisa said-Take PICS NOW and lots of them (that would be pics of yourself!) i know i know that is probably the last thing you want to do, but please do it!  You will be glad you did!  I wish i had listened when people told me to do it.  I HATED being in front of the camera.  So if i have any regret, its that--not having enough before pics to compare my after's to!

I don't know how much you have to lose, but remember you didn't gain it overnight nor will you lose it. Don't compare yourself to others. (I know that is hard not to do) Start following the band rules now.  DON"T DRINK ANYTHING TO HOPE TO FLUSH DOWN YOUR STUCK FOOD! It won't work.

I agree.  The band life is easy!!!!  (insert sarcastic chuckle here) Just follow all Dr. orders, don't drink too soon before eating or too soon afterwords, but drink at least 64 oz. per day, low fat, low simple carb, higher protein, and Excercise 5 to 7 hours per week.  That's all I've had to do.  Now, does doing all that consume every hour of every day, every waking moment?  Seems like it to me.  Have I failed on any or all of those things in my year as of 9/1 - you betcha!  But I make a concerted, thoughtful effort to do all of these things every day.

Don't make excuses for exercise.  I started the second day post op with a small walk.  Increasing slowly - now, in less than a year, I'll be running my 3rd 5k of the summer on Saturday, and I tamed the elipitical for one hour yesterday.  Exercise.  Can't emphasize it enough.

I AS A PAST GASTRIC BYPASS PATIENT WOULD RECOMMEND OTHER OPTIONS LIKE THE GASTRIC SLEEVE OR BYPASS. CHECK OUT MY WEBSITE & SEE OTHER OPTIONS. PLUS, WHATEVER SURGERY U DECIDE UPON...WALK, WALK, WALK IMMEDIATELY.

Congratulations on your date!  Take pictures now and figure out which pair of pants you're going to keep to prove you were this size.  You will need them later.  You will work to get the weight off.  Enjoy the journey.
