Tough love time ----

Success with the band is all about compliance with your surgeon's instructions.

You can't get into the 'this is getting old' or "I don't want to eat what I should' if you want to lose weight with a band.

You are ALWAYS going to be able to eat crap -- and eat more of it than you should --- if you allow yourself to.  Even with restriction, the types of foods you are eating are not going to be even slowed down by your band.

You have to decide what you want --- weight loss and long term health, or crap food.

You might feel sad about foods that you need to stop eating, but you are not lost -- you know the plan -- you just don't want to follow it.
That is ok if youwant to stay the same --- but if you had this surgery to change your life, you know exactly what to do.
Follow your doctor's eating plan --- eat small amounts of protein at reasonable intervals.

You can do it --- you don't have to like it, but you can do it!

Tough love is good!!! I need that so that I don't  mess up!!! We get ****y (well I do) I start to feel good and than I give up...I can't do that this time...I won't allow myself to.  I get bored so I am trying to eat different things..also, old habits are hard to break...this is a learning process and I am just starting out being only 1 month post op.  One day at a time is my motto...I am starting to follow the Dr's plan and see what happens, but I am still very hungry! Thanks Kathi

Gia, I am having the same problem.  I was banded 07/15/10 and initially I felt like I had restriction and now I feel like I can eat anything.  I also feel like I haven't lost enough weight and my fill isn't until 08/30/10.  I really need to refocus and measure my food or things could really get out of control.  Good Luck.....I definitely feel your pain

It is a slow learning process and I am trying to get used to everything..My first fill is in 2 weeks so I am hoping that will curb my cravings...Also, I haven't been eating all the protein I should so I feel hungry and I do have the issue with drinking...One day at a time is all we could do.  We seem to be 10 days apart so if you need to vent  I am here.
