Yep!  You are exactly right.....this surgeon, Dr. Eldo Frezza has done some horrible surgeries.  However, I am sure he would love to blame it all on his patients....but I know of TWO of his patients that went a year or so thinking that they were doing something wrong, only to find out the band was never even placed around their stomach!!!  TWO PEOPLE...and I only know 4 people total that had surgery with him!!  What are those kind of odds??

I just had surgery to repair a slip......a different surgeon and much better surgeon did the repair job.  I have faith that his work will last!

OMG I know that name!!!!!  I've read some horror stories about him and his mistakes!

I'm glad you survived surgery by him.  I mean that literally.  Is he even practicing anymore?

I know a lady that had the same thing but by a different surgeon.  The band was wrapped around a wad of fat and not her stomach.  She was self pay for $22K. :o(

Oh wow!!!  Self pay?  Any way to recover that money??  Yikes!!  Yes, I am happy to have survived Frezza's surgery and so happy to be with another surgeon.  I have heard Frezza went to Alabama and also heard he left the country....he was from Italy.  Not sure where he is, but he needs his license taken away!!

With surgeons like Frezza you just have to wonder, when they are sitting at home drinking their morning coffee, do they actually sit and think... "Wow, I suck as a surgeon," or if they just think everyone is as stupid as they are.  Makes ya wonder, you know?

No, there was no getting her money back.  There were four people (all different surgeons) that had bands but not around their stomachs.  Not one could find a lawyer to take their case.  It wasn't enough money to be worth it and the costs would outweigh the pay outs.  They would need to hire an expert witness which would cost more than the pay out.

She was just out $22K PLUS band removal on top of that.

Her ID was ShortGal on LBT.

My friend that had the same thing happen with Frezza couldn't find a lawyer to help her out either.  She had insurance, thank goodness!! If you are self pay that would just be a total nightmare!!  Wow!!

You know, Frezza was an idiot.  He tried to tell me that my AP Band (small) was a 5 CC band.  I have the email traffic from him saved...I had to go to the Allergan website and send him the info about my own band.  He finally admitted that I was right.  Such a freaking idiot!!  When I went in for my surgery they never weighed me....and when I came back for my first fill they didn't weigh me.   Him or his office could care less about my success, they just wanted the money for the surgery.

I have yet to hear anything positive about that man.

Have you check board actions to see if anyone ever filed a complaint with the medical board?

This is why I am sooo anal retentive about researching your surgery type and your SURGEON!  I've had people tell me that any surgeon HAS to be a good surgeon because you have to be really smart to get through medical school.  (slowly shakes head)

People make assumptions they should not make.  If they got through medical school, they must be good.

If they are a US surgeon, they must be good.

If they are board certified, they must be good.

If ins contracts with them, they must be good.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..................

For the rest of my days I will prearch and annoy people to research their surgery types and their surgeons.

Well, I didn't do my research, that's for sure.  My insurance company would only cover the insurance through him, so I figured it was all good.  Guess what?  The insurance company had to pay for my slip repair, so that cost them dearly.
