I'm sorry for what you went through, but this feels kind of like bringing old baggage into a discussion that really wasn't about that.

I appreciate ALL suggestions about what to do for this type of pain (it seems to come more at night.) And I especially appreciate hearing that it shouldn't be ignored if it continues for a long time. I don't want you to think I'm knocking you, I just think that people should focus on giving helpful advice but leave personal gripes at the door. I'm an innocent bystander and don't want to read about what one person said to another years ago.

Thanks!

That's how public boards work...people don't always just stick to what YOU want to talk about.

Anyway, in this case, it might help you to know that Sandy R has, from the beginning, been a self-appointed LapBand expert.   She was a relative lightweight, who did well and has not--YET--has a complication.  She also found a way to befriend people and then lead them to where she sells motivational CDs and all...for only $62 plus shipping.

Sometimes, "old" info lets people (who CARE to know who they're dealing with) see the whole picture a little more clearly.

Oh, that's right. I forgot about THAT part. I just remember her calling herself a "band educator" and telling people who had problems that they should suck it up and pipe down... which probably wasn't what I needed to be doing.

Oh Darl'en!  You've missed a great deal of Sandy information!

Allow me to enlighten you!

(above, note the quoted posts when someone that looks like little orphan annie deletes her threads as she's caught using fake IDs)

There are many more I could dig up. ;o)

Now, ya did know that Sandy lost her nursing license in two states due to a felony, right?  And then just last April was disciplined by the nursing board AGAIN for posing as a nurse impostor and fined.  She couldn't afford the entire fine after being fired from Kuri's office so she had to make payment arrangements to pay the 2nd fine for doing the same thing.

Then she was kicked out of Kuri's email group for posing as other patients.  She would write something stupid, everyone would disagree with her and then she started coming up with fake patient ID so someone would support her.  They caught her with her IP address.

Then she started changing emails written to her by others and passing them around blaming others for her fake emails, fake ID, fake posts, fake fake fake everything.

have you been gone so long as to miss all that?

See, the boards really are different.

Oh, then there is the thread where she claimed that after a sleeve there is no revision, nothing can be done if the person fails,  No bypass, no DS.  This clearly shows she has no idea what a DS is.  She may not be a nurse but she didn't get a lot in the way of her education either. ;o)

She sells the very vitamins now that she used to claim were unnecessary.  Once she saw $$ all the sudden everyone needs vitamins!

GAWD!

I vaguely remember hearing things in passing. To tell the truth, after Spotlight went kaput, I became a member of a very small online support group. OH was huge and I didn't like the whole, "You're moderated, so you can't post yet" thang, so I skipped this site for years.

But I think I'll start referring to myself as a "band survivor and educator" just for fun.

I'm also bumping this thread for the people asking about left shoulder pain currently. I think there's some info here worth reading.

That's why I like moderated boards where posts get deleted for being off topic. If you want to start a thread called "Advice for newbies from people who've been here a while" that would be an appropriate place to give that kind of info. Otherwise, it's called hijacking a thread - which is what this has quickly become.

Also, if a newbie is not smart enough to tell their ass from a hole in the ground then they deserve to get lured into $62 motivational CDs. Thanks for the head's up though Hijack over... as is the shoulder pain (still knocking on wood.)

Highest Wt: 274 / LAP-Band Low: 180 / Sleeved at 233 / Goal: 160!

Hijacking a thread is done here ALL THE TIME.

(Just another hint from someone who has been here a while.)

Then you would do well to stop posting.

You are rude and childish when you behave this way.  You did it to me and now to others.  Funny, just those that have lost their bands do you treat this way.   That post was not directed at you anyway so why do you fret over it?

It isn't up to you to dictate how others should respond to a post.  This isn't your board, you don't call the shots and you don't make the rules.  Honestly, if you aren't slam dunking someone because they are at goal when you aren't you are telling people what they may post and what they may not post.

Start your own board then you get to make these decisions,  In the meantime, leave others alone that lost their bands.  It makes you appear very insecure in your banding decision.

And one other thing, if the day comes that you lose your own band, you stop and think how you treated others when they lost their bands.  I know I'll damn sure remember it.
