Has anyone had the LapBand procedure at Tufts Medical Center in downtown Boston?  If so, I'd like to hear any and all comments about the experience.  Thank you very much!!!

You might try posting your inquiry on the RI board and the MA board.

Upper left, under the "welcome" banner, click on "forums", then "state".  For that matter, you could probably post your inquiry on all the New England boards -- Tufts is certainly an attractive option throughout the region.

Good luck to you!

Hi!  Thanks for responding.  I don't know how to PM (for all I know, I AM PM'ing!)

Were you happy with the Tufts Program?  Any particular surgeon you'd recommend and why?  How was the follow-up?  Are they generally sensitive and competent?

MANY thanks.

I looked into it when I was first getting information on the band.  I did not like the fact that everyone had to do a 6 month program, regardless of insurance.

Thanks, Sandra267.  Are there particular surgeons you could recommend outside of the Tufts plan?  Thanks very much.

I went to faulkner hosip.  My sugeon was Dr Vernon.  I had other issues during surgery and long story short had to have another surgery at brighams 3 months later.  Dr Venon did that surgeon too.  She removed a 5 inch tumor from my adrenal gland laproscopically.  She is a very good surgeon.  She have office hours at faulkner and brighams

Hi Interested, I will send you a PM (Private Message) with more detials so we don't clog up the board with stuff that doesn't relate to most people, but I am happy to say publically that I have been mostly happy with Tufts and feel I have gotten good care.

Sandra, there is no 6 month program at Tufts. I had my first consult on August 7th and was totally approved and in surgery by October 26th (in fact, I was the one who pushed it back so long-- they were ready for me in September!!!).
