Pill Stuck Maybe But I can Still Swallow? Confused.

Hi All-

Last night I took 2 nyquil liquid gel caps.  I've been sick since Saturday with sore throat although that's gotten better now, stuffy/runny nose, cough, etc.

I took the 2 gel caps with apple juice and right away I could feel that something got stuck and that I had that horrible pressure on my chest and I knew I was going to have to throw up.  So I went into the bathroom and threw up apple juice but no pills.

After that I brushed my teeth and tried to go to bed and I had this weird sensation that I was still stuck.  I went out and made myself some hot coco thinking I could wash this pill down if it was stuck.

I drank the hot coco and everything seemed fine and then I went to bed and I still felt this pressure on my chest.

I thought it would pass with some rest and that maybe my band got over worked or something but this morning when I woke up I still have this pressure on my throat and chest.

I've been coughing a bit too so I don't know if my band could or slipped or what's going on.

Any suggestions??

I was able to drink this morning and it went down a tad uncomfortable but it went down.

You should probably call your doctor just to see if gel caps would get lodged.  I personally would not take them because I am a "fraidy cat" LOL  Any pills I take.. I cut.  I don't care if they are the size of a birth control pill!  I had to take Allegra last year and I crushed it up and ate with applesauce.  Normally that is how I will take my pills.  For a cold such as yours, I took Theraflu and home remedies.  I hope you get to feeling better!!

I wouldn't worry about slip band at this point. It is important that you have liquids only untill this is resolved. Any food will aggravate your stomach even more.It  is probably swollen from the pressure.I would see if it gets better today, if not call your surgeon.

FYI ..i saw alka seltzer makes the a powder form that u can mix with water and no bubbles ....not sure if its lap band safe though( band erosion)
