I was 350 at my surgical consult and was 315 at surgery. my surgeon really made it clear she would cancel if I gained so I doubled my weight loss insurance required pre-op. As you can see by my ticker I have done fairly well. Almost 100#'s total 65 since surgery 9 months ago.

Yes I am 5'2" and was 371 day of surgery the Allergan APLarge band came out in June 07 and I was one of my surgeons first patients with a BMI over 50 actually my bmi was 67.4 and he banded me against the insurances requesting wanting me to RNY cause their statistics seem to be anyone over 50 BMI would not benefit the lapband ... Well I hate to prove them wrong but I am still on my journey and I have lost 117 lbs and around 52 inches total on my body head, neck, breast, waist hips, thighs and legs.

Alot of the posts I have seen show people in their 200's.  Just wondered if there was any larger people who have gotten lapband?

Thank you,

Hi Ann,
I weighed 322#, and I'm 5'4" tall, before I had surgery.  I weigh about 182# now, and I still have about 30# to lose.  It often does seem as if only people in the 200s have had lap-band surgery, but you'll be surprised at how many people were over 300#.

Good luck to you!

Well, i know I'm not a female but i was 460+ when i started all this. I say the + because that is as high as the scales would go . When i first met the surgeon i was 445 though.

Oh yes....I was 455 when I was banded 9/4/08. As of today I have lost 163 lbs. So it is definitely possible to be well over 300 lbs, even 400 lbs, have the LapBand and lose the weight you want to lose.
