Is too much crystal light bad for you?
Sorry Sandy...but I agree with F2F - Fluoride is poisonous and should never be ingested...period! "Many things are poisonous"...does not facilitate a reason for making it safe enough to use orally. Here are the medical studies you were looking for: http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/news/features/fluoride-childrens -health-grandjean-choi
My gut feeling is that it must be bad for you. Here are the ingredients:
CITRIC ACID, MALTODEXTRIN, CALCIUM PHOSPHATE. ASPARTAME. MODIFIED CORNSTARCH. RED 40. NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, POTASSIUM CITRATE,
ACESULFAME POTASSIUM, SALT , ARTIFICIAL COLOR, BLUE 1, BHA
Why do that to yourself? I try to avoid edible food-like substances and stick to the real thing - including real sugar.
In fact, since I've stopped using artificial sweeteners, I started to lose weight again.
Here's my thinking...before being banded I drank loads and loads of coffee and diet coke. Since about a month before surgery I have not had any soda or caffeine. Crystal Light might not be perfect, but it is absolutely helping me drink far more water and has helped me to continue to eliminate caffeine and carbonation.

...just a side note on the flouride issue
Too much flouride is NOT healthy. Thankfully, we have well water at home. When I'm at work, I drink bottled water. While flouride (in small amounts) is great for children developing teeth, it does little to nothing for adults and can actually be quite harmful. It can not only cause flourosis (spots on teeth), but it also affects the thyroid, slowing down metabolism which we DON' T WANT!!!!

I agree -- you are going to get a lot of mixed responses to this question. For me, personally, I used to consume 80+ ozs per day of Diet Pepsi. I'm now down to 12-16 oz. I've been able to replace it with water by using Crystal Light. I makes me want to drink water as I've always got a different flavor to choose from. The variety keeps my taste buds happy. For me, it has not caused an increase in my sweets or carb consumption -- my dailyplate.com tracking proves it to me.

I don't care, I drink it all day...I love the NATURAL lemonade....Splenda is a derivitive of sugar, it is made from sugar...It does NOT increase my appetite...It has no caffiene...and I do not have a problem losing with it. I change it up as far as flavors and now they have added some with protein and vitimins....I have no problem with it,and my Nut. has no problem with it.......
