Sure there is no problem, although it really doesn't work too great for most people.

Really there is no difference, they both do a perfectly adequate job.

Hello Dr. Curry,

Thank you so much for offering to answer questions !

I have only had two fills so far and I feel that I could eat whatever I want !  I am going for another fill this Wednesday but I was wondering if you could tell me if it would be o.k. for me to take "hoodia".

Thanks.

Cindy

There is no harm to the band from taking over the counter stuff like this.

Dr. Curry,   I have a hiatail hernia  (sp) that I have kept under control with Nexium for 15+ years.   My Doctor has mentioned he may repair it while he is placing the lap band.   Do you find that patients have a longer/harder recovery becasue of the added procedure?   I have my final consult with him on the 20th and could ask him then, but am curious now.   Thank you for your time.   Kimberly

Kimberly, hi!  Just wanted to tell you from a fellow Bander like myself, my hiatial hernia was repaired during my lapband surgery - and I was back to normal a few days later, so I don't think it "delays" recovery.  I feel great - and even better because I don't have the heartburn that dogged me the whole time prior to surgery.  Good luck!!!!!!

I don't think it prolongs recovery at all, we fix them all the time and patients still go home the same day.
