Lots of great ideas here. Thanks everyone. I actually went to the Unjury site and saw that I could actually order samples which I greatly appreciate after having loads of protein in the kitchen that no one will use. I order one of each for only $1.75.

I am only 1 week out from surgery and on liquid stage.  My protein is from Walmart, vanilla flavor.

To make my shakes I use 8 oz of skim milk, 1/4 cup of nonfat dry milk, then depending on the flavor I want I might add:

a sugar free Carnation Chocolate Breakfast
a banana
1 T Peanut Butter
1 T cream cheese
or 1 scoop of ff sf ice cream/yogurt

or a combination of the above.

I am in love with the carnation instant breakfast bottles that are premade and sugar free.  They are so delicious and are a good source of protein.  They also have carnation instant breakfast packets in which you could add extra protein or dry milk. I have been living on those since the surgery and now continue just to make sure I have enough protein.

There is really no need for protein shakes, as they are just the type of liquids calories bestto avoid - per the basic band rules.  never used any at all, excpet for a few brief times of band trouble.

it's not hard at all all to get the protin we need from real foods - and these also contain the essential IRON we need - when protein drinks have little to none.

Especially if you don't like  them -  eat real foods!! Much less expensive too and much better nutrition.

Let us know if you need help choosing good protein foods.
