Hello Dr. Curry, I am concerned about stopping my supplements a week before surgery. I have been taking Iron together with Vit. A, C and E as well as potassium (leg cramps) and a Multi vitamin. Why would my doctor want me to stop the supplements the second week of my liquid phase prior to surgery. My fear is that my iron and my potassium will be too low and they will postpone my surgery. It just doesn't make sense and I have called twice and confirmed to stop! I also think I am getting sick.

Hi, Dr. Curry,I had lap band surgery almost 3 months ago. I have this pain on the left side of my chest underneath my breast. I have a 10mm trocar site there. This pain comes and goes and it is quite discomforting. What do you think can be causing this pain?

Dr. Curry,
is there any special instructions that you would give to a vegetarian that is embarking on the lap band surgery? I am scheduled to see the surgeon on 9/23 and I have started a soy protein supplement so I can begin the 60 grams a day of protein. The dietician called as well and ask that I limit my intake to 1200 calories.
Have you seen any differences as it relates to vegetarians?
Thank you.
