Hey ya'll! A couple of weeks ago, someone started a thread stating that she was thinking of buying a bodybugg to monitor her calories.   And then someone else mentioned that they had purchased a cheaper alternative that worked well for them. I can't remember the name.   It's driving me crazy!  Help! Update: I found it! It's called actitrainer.  I found it on the exercise forum.

It's a device that monitors your caloric intake.

Hi Simone! i bought a polartek heart monitor to monitor my calories burned through exercise.  Even with the bodybugg, you have to plug in what you eat - it doesn't just automatically log it.  (At least last time I researched it)  Plus, you have subscription fees that were pretty hefty.  I would recommend an online calorie tracker and the heart rate monitor for exercise.

I was just checking them(Polar F11) out last night.  The hefty fees for BodyBugg are why I wanted to check into alternatives.  I bought myself a recumbent bike and even though I programed it, the calories burned aren't right.  So I was looking for something more accurate. Thanks!

I think I have the F11 and I love it.  It is so cool to know that I am not working hard enough or I am working just right.  I bought it after Tami from AL recommended them.  I find that I don't have to work as hard as I thought I did so I can work out longer.  Then, it is really nice to know that it is only 250 calories so I should work longer or it is 1000 calories and I could stop  :)  One night, I went for a walk with my friend for 2 hours.  It was 1500 calories - more than I ate in that day!
