I now have a rash under my tummy pouch. It kind of hurts. Anyone get this? What did you do about it?? I've been making sure it's dry and what not. Anything else I can do? Thanks! Jess 253/181/140

I've found two treatments that work well.  One would be the cream version of Neosporin.  The original 'ointment' version is too oily and would be counter productive when you are trying to keep the area dry.  The other would be a yeast treatment such as Lotrimin.  With either one, apply sparingly.  You don't want that area "moist".  Other than that, just keep doing what you've been doing to keep the area dry.  A simple talc powder (I'm using baby powder lol) works wonders.  HTH

Yeah, this happened to me ALL last summer, the more i went to the gym, the more it happened. Somehow, I've survived this summer with only one yeast attack - of my belly button- it was weird. I highly suggest that if you DO use baby-powder (and I do this occasionally) just make sure it's talc, and NOT corn-starch!  also, a perscription for diflucan can help, and that's a pill, which is sometimes nice too.

Diflucan is great for treating vaginal yeast infections.  However, it is not designed to nor does it treat topical yeast.  For topical yeast, say... under a tummy pouch, she will need to use a topical treatment.  They are OTC, so no prescription is necessary. Peace, Kira

You can also fold a clean white handkerchief under your belly to soak up the sweat when you work out.  That cut mine down even before I was banded. It is important to have your physician keep track of all your yeast infections because then he/she can make a case for your getting plastic surgery because of medical reasons.

Something that helped me.  If your skin is not broken try using a roll on deoderant anti persperant (SP).   I think I use Secret Vanilla.  There is alcohol in it and it kills the bacteria plus it's helping you keep dry and not letting any body odor take hold. But I warn  you if your skin is broken or really raw this will sting/burn.  And it must be the roll on liquid kind.  The stick helps but there's something about the alcohol in the roll on that really does the trick for me.  I'd been getting yeast infections under my belly fat and my breast and sometimes under my arms.  It's pretty much taken care of it. Give yourself a few extra minutes getting ready.  It takes a bit for it to dry. Hope this helps.

Oh rereading through the posts.  Belly buttons...  this is so weird my girlfriend called me last night about this.   If your belly button gets infected keep it cleaned out with peroxide.  It kills the yeast.   Thought I"d mention it.

The best thing I have found for this is zinc oxide.  You can buy it OTC, just ask your  pharmacist.  I get this a lot and I use the ziinc oxide and it is gone the next day.  No sting an a great relief. Another thing is Boudreaux's Butt Paste.  (Son't laugh, it is out there )  It contains zinc oxide.  I hope this helps.

Over the counter yeast ointments work the best, lotrimin, tinactin, and the like. However before you go and heal it, take a picture of it as it will help your cause if you need Plastic surgery in the future

...and here I was thinking I'm the only one who gets this! Right at this very moment I have topical yeast infections in my belly button; under my tummy; and in my right underarm!!! My doctor gave me some oral yeast medication that you take once every three days - it helped, but it didn't get rid of it.  I'm using cornstarch baby powder under my tummy and on my underarm and it's made it easier to live with - but its still there.  Anything that works to make it go away???
