Hey Jacquie! Only my opinion of course.....and that of my surgeon (who I happen to think is the BEST)....according to Dr. Dewitt, RNY and the malabsorbtion factor is a huge part of WHY we lose weight and have better results maintaining weight loss than with any other types of WLS. He only does RNY and considers any other types of WLS 'inferior'. I always knew that I was having RNY and never really researched any others, but just my $.02!

Topic: Need information
My sister-in-law has lost 75 pounds. I discovered this last week that she has had WLS. I have planned on going to Dr. Freeman in Anniston and having the Lap. Gastric Bypass. My SIL had the Duodenal Switch. She swears that it is so much better than the other surgeries for WL. I know what the difference is in the surgery; however, I do not have objective input into why one WLS is better than the other. Does anyone out there know? Or does anyone know where to get the information? I need to know asap since my doctor appoint is August 4. Thanks for any information you might have.

You know, Grace, I just try to put myself in the other person's shoes and treat them the way I would like to be treated. It does not hurt to be kind and loving to people. Should they treat me badly in return, they have to answer for that. I am only responsible for my actions.

The pre-op crap is a bear -- but a broken arm during the dead heat of summer is a real *****! I hope you heal quickly and that your spirits pick up soon! You seem to be such a sweet person! Take care of yourself - Much love

Dixie was trying to catch up with you???? Yeah, right! She's a speed demon nut. Of course i can always hope that she took my advice and took her lead foot off the accelerator. She drives so fast she scares the hell out of me.
Glad you had a great time on your vacation. Hope you are all rested up.
