Hi Kim!
Just eat what you want for one day and start over tomorrow! Sometimes we all need a break! Just do it with moderation! I do this every once in awhile and then I get back up and brush myself off!

Topic: What a year...
Hi Everyone!
Well, I guess better late than never...
Last Thursday was my 1-year anniversary for my weight loss surgery! What a year it has been! I have gone from 295 pounds to 152 pounds. I started out in size 26-28 and now wear a size 12. I can't say it has been easy but it has been an adventure. I still constantly keep up with my food and weight on a daily basis but it is second nature to me. (Not bothersome or a chore, just something I know I have to do to take care of myself!) I have come to realize that this is definately a lifelong commitment. For those of you who are researching this surgery, good luck to you. If I can help in any way, please email me. For those of you who are newly post-op, hang in there, it does get better!
Gail
-143 pounds
PS...all blood labs look good still! I take 1 multi-vitamin daily, 1 calcium chew daily and subligual B-12 daily! I get in a minimum of 60 -80 g of protein a day and still have a hard time getting in all my liquids!
For those of you who want to see my before pictures taken at my surgeons office before my surgery...

I don't have the after pictures from his office yet, should get them soon! They have been done, I just don't have them yet!

Jacquie!
DS is a great WLS! My surgeon says that weight loss is greater with the DS because of major malabsorption. The malabsorption with the DS is greater than with RNY. You have to be seriously mindful of your nurtrition with the DS.

Do any of you ever get tired of being 'good' and want to just say 'screw it all'? I have gone from 143 - 149 for 8 weeks now and it seems like I am working my ass off for nothing. If I am done losing, that's fine, but am I always going to have to work this hard just to maintain??? For the past 3 weeks, I have worked sssoooo hard to get in my water and protein and seem to be getting absolutely nowhere!! I am so SICK of being obsessed about my weight and yes I know that I should throw the scale out the window.....but it keeps me honest.....but it puts me in a rotten mood too when I KNOW I am doing the right things but nothing is happening. Right now, I want pizza, french fries and birthday cake. Thanks for listening

Join the out of the loop club! Ive had so much to catch up around here I dont see a end in sight. Im getting ready to go cut grass before work. I have no choice, it has to be done but just popping in for a second, then off to work. Whatever the issue hope it works itself out soon. Miss you all!
Love,
Sandy

Hi all! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was nonstop. I started trying to clean out the spare bedroom (that is now a junk room).....Saturday went to a wedding and Sunday spent the day on the lake. I've got major issues with work right now (of course) but am trying to remain calm and work through things and just have enough faith that things will be just exactly as they should be (easier said than done). Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I've been kinda out of the loop and I miss you all.

Damn woman!!! I hope everything goes well -- my WLS Buddy in Crime had a kink they had to go in and tack (her's didn't unkink itself -- it cut off any "exit" and she had been in a lot of pain) - her name is Susan Maddy if you want to look her up and ask what to expect as for recovery time. Let us know how things go -- and you know if you need anything to give a shout -- I'll be there!
Love ya woman!
