I don't know Kim, it would make sense that at least as long as the dog is taking the medication and maybe a little after. I found this website, maybe this will help: http://www.petplace.com/articles/artShow.asp?artID=1553

Topic: OT - Prednisone for dogs
Good morning all. Does anybody know how long prednisone (metered dose pack that has been tapered for 10 days given to treat arthritis) takes for the side effects to wear off (extreme incontince) in an animal? My 15 year old Dalmatian is on the 8th day of the 10 day dose along with an incontinence drug that we started at the same time. Well about 2 days into the drug regimen, her incontinence got worse than ever and I called the vet. They said that we wouldn't see the effects of the incontinence drug until the prednisone was out of her system. Thanks for any insight Kim (who @ 6:00 AM is mopping the floor for the 3rd time today already )

Wonderful news! Absolutely wonderful news! I'm so glad that all this worked out for Joni. And I'm glad you got to see her, too. I haven't been able to see her since January. Take care of you and don't work to hard! Gisela

Hey everyone, Joni is going to be released from the hospital today. She really looks good and her spirits are good. She will be staying in Hoover at the apt. with her friend Debbie. Debbie is amazing and has really been a great friend to Joni. I will be working the next 2 nights on 12 hour shifts, but will probably go see Joni on Wednesday. She goes back to see Dr. Stahl on Friday and shortly after will be going back to Florence. I am going to miss her. I am so glad that I met her and so many others here. I feel like I have lots and lots of sisters. Love yall, Beth

Thank you so much Sandy for the compliment, it really means a lot to me. I went by to see Joni this afternoon and introduced her to my hubby. Joni looks great and feels better today. She is going to be leaving the hospital today and will be staying at the apt. in Hoover with her friend Debbie. Debbie has been amazing, she is so lucky to have her. Anyway, I am going to lie down and get some rest before I have to go in to work this evening. I hope we can get together soon again, I really enjoyed meeting you. Love Ya too, Beth
