Hey guys, I have developed some more of a head cold and sinus infection I suppose. I am running a low grade fever and feel like someone hit me in the nose. I have to work this weekend so please keep me in your thoughts that I get to feeling better before time to go in to work tomorrow night. Beth G

Congratulations on your weight loss so far! Your pain will dimish with time of course. If anything seems abit weird though contact your doctor. Now, as far as SF popsicles, I don't have a clue. You can most likely find them in your local grocery store. I would check a Walmart. As far as coffee and tea, drink away. I would stick with decaf while you are so new out as you may have a hard time getting in all the required liquids you need in a day. You don't want that caffiene robbing you of the needed fluids. The further out you get you can drink regular coffee and tea but I would, my personal preference, keep it to a minimum! Hope this helps! Gail

Topic: QUESTIONS AND FIRST WEIGH-IN SINCE SURGERY
Guess what?! I have lost from 238 to 220 since my WLS on August 24th. I am getting all my protein in and drink a lot of water. I still have pain, but in comparision, it is minimal. Now: 1) Does anyone know if there are S/F banana popsicles anywhere? Those are the only ones I like. 2) Am I able to drink coffee and tea? Thanks for the help.

I talked to Joni this morning and she is back in the hospital .... room 327 at Shelby Baptist. They did a CT scan yesterday but haven't given her any results yet. I will check back with her later and post an update. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She's having a great deal of pain. Love you all Kim

((((((Big Hug Jacquie))))) I'm so sorry for your loss. I wish I could do something that would take all the hurt away. I think sometimes when we have a lot of things going on that things tend to pile up and become overwhelming. If you have not talked to your son about how his not having any contact with you is hurting you, perhaps it would be a good idea to do so. It is hurtful that he did not acknowledge your birthday or Mother's Day, nor has he had any contact since your surgery. I've found that sometimes its a matter of taking the initiative. If others don't reach out to me, I ask myself, am I reaching out to them? Too, there's got to be a certain amount of mood things going on since the surgery. I know its a hard time right now...I'm sorry, I wi**** was better. Jacquie, I truly am sorry that you're dealing with this right now. I don't want you to ever think that I'm not supportive because I make suggestions about how things might be improved. I am not in your shoes and I don't know all the ins and outs of things, but one thing I do know is that we have choices to make. Sometimes we can be part of the problem, or we can be part of the solution. I DO care...that's why I go to the effort to say hey, there are some things that might help. ((((((((Hugs you tight))))))))))). You are in my thoughts and prayers. We do care and we love you! Becky

I feel so guilty asking for prayers for myself when so much tragedy is going on in New Orleans, but I feel we have an omnipotent Father that can help me while still taking care of them. Yes, I am a Christian and a friend of 'JoniJustJoni' As I told her, the last time I checked, God had not made me judge. I had WLS August 24. And, for those who do not know, I have an arm broken in two places. I am getting better day by day; however, I have a son, who lives just next door who has not called, come by to see me -- nothing. I am heartbroken. We were close until he married. He was my baby and we had always been close. My son and his wife did not even acknowledge Mother's Day or my birthday. Today I had a call with his name on my caller id. The call came from his work. I was so glad he called and called him back. Apparently his father (my ex-) had gone by his work and used the phone to call and check on me. I was so hurt and cried for at least two hours. It just hurts me so much. This cannot be good for my recovery. There are a couple of other things happening also. I have a cousin (57) that just died and also his sister's husband just passed away due to cancer two days before. I am so depressed and it is very hard right now. I am reaching out and I need encouragement. Thanks, Jacquie
