Hey guys...there's something going on right now that I can't eleaborate on for a couple of reasons, but its bad. Some allegations have been made that are false...not against me personally, but I'm close enough to the situation that there may be some fall out. An investigation has been launched...and I feel certain that I will be questioned by the authorities. My hope is that it comes to a close quickly and that the truth is manifest. Positive thoughts are needed...and really appreciated...not just for me, but for a friend and coleague who is the focus of the attack. Thanks! I love you guys, Becky

As a rule, you can no longer have Cokes....one thing that freaks me because you know how I love my Coca-Colas. They say if you let a Diet Coke get flat, you can have them. The carbonation doesn't do good on your pouch. One man on the BB used to drink Cokes all day long and now he doesn't even want them. Your tastes change. On the other hand, I do know someone who can tolerate Mt. Dews, but I won't name any names to protect the innocent. Only you will know if you can have bread of not. It is basically a no-no, but some people can tolerate things that others can't. It might make you sick. Mainly you need to get your protein in above all else. But bread is one thing you need to assume you are going to have to live without for the most part. After your surgery, after the time where you can't eat solid food, you can start having small portions of regular food, but you need to only eat one bite of something new at first to see how your pouch is going to take it. You need to chew it very, very well. If you don't get sick, you'll know your pouch can tolerate it. But still don't overdo it. The beauty of WLS is that, for the most part, you can't overdo it or you're going to get sick. But you do not want to be throwing up for a long time after the surgery, so just stick with the protein drinks or whatever the doctor tells you to do. Most people take vitamins...preferably liquid or chewables. You HAVE TO take vitamins for the rest of your life because you do not absorb nutrients like a normal person. You may have to go take B12 shots though, although some people take liquid B12. Read Lindy's profile. She has the pouch rules for dummies on there...I think. Anyway, she has a ton of information you'll need to know. Also, Teann's profile has a lot of stuff if you can dig back here on the older posts and find Teann. She's been feeling poorly lately, so hasn't posted much since you've been on board. There is a world of information around here if you start reading everyone's profiles. Also, those two Carnie Wilson books have a lot of info in there as well. Oh, I meant to tell you. The first one...for some reason, it was put in there upside down, so when you open the first page and it's upside down, just turn it over and start from the back. I got a "blooper." One thing about this board. Anything you want to know about WLS, if we don't know already, we know who does know and can find out. Love, Joni

Silly! Of course YOU! We didn't know too much about that Jaycee Nelson, but JACQUIE is our FRIEND and my sister! Did ya'll know that Jacquie has another sister named Joni? Her mama had a Christmas party one time and she was introducing us as, "This is my daughter Jacquie, and my daughter Joni, and my other daughter Joni." It was too funny. If you ever meet Jacquie's Mama, you will see that the apple didn't fall far from the tree. Her mama is hilarious. I never will forget that time we were going somewhere and I was driving and I said I knew where I was going and your mama said, "I'm not the one who got lost going across the street." Jacquie and I got lost from each other one time in Chattanooga and all we were doing was driving across the street and it took us about 30 minutes to find each other again. Ah, memories. If we did some of the things now that we did back then, we would just look at each other and think..."Alzheimers." Jacquie and I met through a mutual friend, back in 1980. The friend told Jacquie not to tell any dirty jokes around me because I was real religious. Oh, the times they were a changin'. Wonder what she would say now if you told her my religious affiliations?! Love, Joni

No, it's only us. There are no lurkers here to my knowledge and if they email me all their information, they will no longer be lurkers. Besides, ya'll know me. If anyone who isn't on the list emails me all their stuff, like C~ for example, you know where I am going to tell her to stick her information. OH made this list invisible, so we can't have lurkers anymore, unless they had this thing bookmarked and you know and you know that any info gleaned from this board would be tattled immediately to the other board, in which case we would know it. They cannot keep secrets to themselves you know. I started this list so I know who's good and who isn't. Only the people that we know are on this list are going to get the information. If I get information from someone I've never heard of, naturally they are not going to be getting OUR information in return. Plus, I will probably, once I get everyone's info that I think wants to be in on it...do another post like today's and say "I have these people who have sent me info and these are the people you will be getting info about." If, at that time, you see someone on the list that you do not want to have your info, just email me and that person will NOT get your info. No one will get all the info until everyone is included who wants to be and everyone is happy about who their info is going to. Besides, if I collect tarot cards and C~ wants to send me some.....awesome! Just kidding! Like SHE would send me anything but hate mail. I know that one isn't lurking or she would be posting little cryptic messages on the BB. Anyway, it'll just be us girls....the known ones of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants or whatever we are. Those little pixies and their paranoid dust! They're supposed to come in and wash dishes or vacuum! Fairy dust is good. Paranoid dust is bad. I just woke up from a nap myself and all they sprinkled on me was migraine dust. I had to counter with my magic elixir of Excedrin. Anyway, your personal info will only be among us girls. Love, Joni

Topic: A couple of questions . . .
My sister is a registered nurse with over ten years experience and she has a responsible position with the county health department. I told her I was reading a book about WLS and asked her if she would ever consider having the surgery. She quickly told me that she would not because: 1) You can no longer have cokes 2) You cannot have bread 3) Some people are no longer able to absorb sufficient nutrients after the surgery and have to have weekly shots Is this true? Or, is she misinformed? Jacquie

This may be a bit of a question but...the people who get involved and receive a list are going to be people that we know, right? I mean, I would suppose that we wouldn't include someone who was a lurker who never posted but who sent in their "info". I guess I'm being paranoid here...I was just thinking of having my personal info floating around and possibly getting into the wrong hands. I know that its up to me to make the decision whether to participate or not...and I'd like to...and I know others would probably be just like me and keep the list secure...just my ramblings...I just got up from a 3 hour nap and little pixies probably sprinkled paranoid dust on me while I slept.
