Gisela,
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I did not think about it until I read your post, but my sister is a RN. In fact, she is over the health department in Lauderdale County, Alabama. She came over today and said my incisions look fine. I guess they take a while to heal. The discharge from the one incision is sort of bloody, but nothing alarming, so I guess I will just chill.
I really appreciate you taking the time to respond.

Hello,
I was worried about my incisions, too, being that I'd never had surgery and didn't know what they were supposed to look like. If you have a friend who is a nurse, have them check it so you don't have to go in to see a doc. That's what I did. I had to have bloodwork done and I ran one down in the hospital to check some of my incisions out, and she said they were all fine.
The site where the drain was was of course the last to heal because the drain stayed in for a week after surgery. I remember mine leaking a little, but it was always clear fluid, it just seeped a little. Only had to change the bandage once a day after shower time.
Oh, and I had bruises for a while, too. First from the heparin shots and days to weeks later the worse or deeper bruises started to appear.
For your own peace of mind, please go see a doctor or any health care provider if it will help you. I'm no doctor, and don't play one on TV (haha) but I would say if they are not hot to the touch, inflamed and not leaking yellow or green smelly stuff you are probably ok. Just make sure you are keeping all wounds clean with soap and water (don't soak forever in the shower - scabs are good!) and of course dry as possible after the shower.
Take care,
Gisela

Love me more than your luggage huh? It better be damn Yves St. Laurent luggage then... I'm no samsonite hussy! Sorry Hon...I've been up to my ass in alligators while they were draining the swamp.
Last night I came home so unbelieveably tired, that I had to MAKE myself get up, fix myself a plate and put it in the microwave. The first week of school is always exhausting. It will be better in another week or two once I get used to the routine again.
I'll do better though...if I'm not around here enough, you can ALWAYS reach me through email.
Oh, as for the Pouty Poochie, we have ways to fix that!
LOVE YOU
Becky, better than the high priced, luxury luggage, one

Hey Kim! Sorry I've been out of touch for a few days. With this being my first week back in school, things have been crazy busy and I've been completely exhausted by the time I've gotten home. My computer at school has died, so I took my laptop from home in so I could work on lesson plans, etc.
The Elementary Director has said that they will get me a new computer. I've been using Mike's pc at night to check my email...I forgot until tonight that Renee had sent me the url for the IG page.
Hope you are doing well...I miss you! Oh, I'll be putting in a SLAH order by Wed. if you want something. Let me know ASAP!
Love you...and I promise to try and do better!

Shamless hussy! I wish I could float away on a pontoon boat! SO SORRY for running away. This last week I worked was horrible. They tried to work me to death. I dont start the new one until Monday.
I had planned on relaxing all week and clearing my head and my nerves from all the mental health stuff. That really is a very stressful job. Katrina changed my plans. My husband was born in New Orleans, he still has family down there. Mainly his sister and niece, alot of cousins, etc. His sister moved back to Bama a few years ago, his niece was able to evacuate out with her hubby and little ones. Still trying to find cousins & outlaws.
I was in Biloxi in 69 when Camille hit. I always loved Biloxi. Katrina brought back alot of memories I thought were gone. I was 10 years old, but still have images in my head that wont go away, this week. I have family in Bay Minette, I havent heard from yet. I hope they get power and phone lines on so I can try to track em down. On a good note, they are not listed as being missing, so Im hoping they are okay.
Then this nasty old spyware invaded my computer and would not let me post. I think I got em all zapped. Ive been in a lonely mood today. I lost a few online friends, on September 11, 2001, that I still miss. Im going to go play in my profile. Time to change it up anyway. I will try not to run away again without checking in.

Topic: I feel rotten.
I don't know if it is common to feel rotten this far out from WLS (August 24) or not. The incision sites (especially one) are painful and I still have a discharge from one of the areas where the drainage pump had been installed. There are no red streaks around the incisions; however, I am still quite bruised. Am I just normal? Do I need to call the doctor?
