Surgery

I wanted to remind everyone that my surgery will be this Wednesday. I went to pre-op yesterday. One thing odd that happened is that I have tried to keep the surgery quiet. Well, it so happens that another girl from Killen (my home) is having surgery the same day. While I was meeting with the dietitian, the girl asked my sister where we went to church, my sister told her. The girl then told my sister where she goes to church. My sister said, "My aunt goes there." The girl asked what is the aunt's name and my sister tells her. The girl then tells her that my aunt is just like a mother to her. The girl said she would not tell her about me. I hope that is the case. I am just not ready to share this yet. Wish me well. I hate mine fell the same day as Joni's. What is the chance? I had planned on helping her. It does sound as if she has a better after-care setup though. Jacquie

Good luck with your surgery on Wednesday. I wish you an uneventful recovery and all the weight loss that you want and deserve. You are in good hands with your choice of surgeon from what I understand. Please keep us posted on your progress and how you are feeling. Keep your fingers crossed for me also please as I resubmit my paperwork to insurance at the end of the month as I have completed another 6 month physician supervised diet. I will keep you in my thoughts.. Beth

Surely they won't tell them. Weight loss people tend to stick together. Your surgery is not the same as mine. Mine is on Thursday. Actually, if they do tell your aunt about seeing you at Dr. Freeman's, just say he does all kinds of surgery and that you heard he also did gastric bypass surgery and you did meet another woman from Killen there and you do recall she said she was having gastric bypass surgery. I hate that we have to sneak around with this surgery, that so many people think it's a cop out and not a life saving surgery that is medically necessary. I do think most people in my family would understand it, but my mother would never accept it, understand it or let it go. Love, Joni

Thank you so much. My mother will be going with me and take care of me. Remeber her in your prayers also. She is 73.
