Hair Loss
Does anybody know approx. WHEN (how many months post op) normally will my hair stop falling out? I've been on Biotin since before my surgery and honestly can't tell that it's helped any. I go back to Dr. Dewitt next month and will ask him then.....but usually when I ask he just grins (....ahhhh and WHAT a cute grin it is ) and says, "kim, you have so much hair, don't worry about it. It will stop.".... But ya'll I AM SERIOUSLY getting worried. I wash my hair about 3 times a week and each time there is enough hair to stop up the drain. Pam combs it out for me and another big wad of hair. I style it, blow dry it and another big wad comes out.....not to mention all the stragglers that I am CONSTANTLY picking off of my clothes/car seat/ furniture/ bathroom floor, etc. It's not really noticeable to anybody but me......but if it doesn't stop soon, it WILL be..........and I am VAIN I WILL BUY A WIG
I'm also seriously considering cutting it all off to see if that will help any. What do you think?
Love ya'll
kim
Kim,
Sorry for the late reply but I really don't know the answer to that question. I lost hair at about 3-4 months out for about 2 month. It really wasn't enough to notice other than when washing my hair. I have not lost any hair since then. Just try to continue to get in all your protein and good luck.

Dunno on that one, but I dread that part. It grosses me out when even ONE hair comes out when I'm washing my hair. And I hate all the loose hair on the carpet, on my bed, etc. I do shed some and it makes me crazy. I shudder to think how much is in the carpet since I don't have a vacuum cleaner. I have one of those little mini Scorpion vacuum cleaners, but can't vacuum the whole apartment with it...well, I guess I could if I could stand on my worthless legs.
I keep meaning to start taking Biotin now, but never seem to see any anywhere and forget to look when I'm in Wal-Mart. Where do ya'll get your Biotin?
My hair is just about the only thing that hasn't fallen apart on me, so I hate to see it fall out. It always looks like crap these days because I can't stand on my feet to fix it or hold my arms up to blow it dry, so I just wa**** and go out with it wet and then I sweat buckets so it looks gross, but at least I have the feeling that should I go to the beauty shop and let them fix it, it would look good...until I walked out of the shop and started sweating again.
I hope I have the same reaction that most people have to the surgery and start to freeze to death all the time. That would be nice.
Speaking of which, it feels like it's 6000 degrees outside these days. I hate it.
You do have a lot of pretty hair, so it shouldn't be too bad.
Love you,
Joni
