As I see it.
Hi, Interest Group,
I have had some interaction now with most everyone in the group. Then when I had a few questions, people took the time to address them. In depth. Which I appreciate so much. Even Kim, before she left on vacation, took the time to respond.
Anyway, that got me to thinking about how nice everyone in this group is and I believe I know why everyone is so kind and willing to reach out to others.
People in this group were or are considered 'morbidly obese.' Because we were not able to just get by with our looks (like some of the skinny, self-absorbed women we meet), we have developed strength of character in areas that are so much more important.
Once WLS is over with, you guys are pure dynomite.
I love you people.
Jacquie
Keep a close eye on Joni, we dont want her to go to prison
The one thing I hope never changes for me, is the compassion and empathy I have for the morbidly obese. I do know once some cross over to the skinny side they seem to forget where they have been, and become a completely different person inside and out but since I am aware of that fact, I dont think it will change me much in that aspect. I would really love to work at a Bariatric Clinic or for a bariatric doctor myself. That would be my dream job.
Love,
Sandy
Hey Jacquie! You are absolutely right about us being kinder because of our life experiences surrounding OBESITY. I, for one, hope that I NEVER forget to be compassionate to EVERYONE and I don't believe that I will. If anything, now that I am somewhat "normal sized" I have MORE empathy and compassion to those that are still obese because I KNOW that there is a better life out there! Love you too honey and hope you are having a great week!!
hugs,
Kim
