Effexor

Happy Tuesday all! I went to my PCP yesterday and finally got up the nerve to talk to him about my bouts of depression and moodiness.......He prescribed Effexor and I started it last night (even though I am STILL not convinced that I am 'depressed' )...but I am going to trust him on this one! Does anyone out there have any experience with this drug? I read in the patient info that it is a time release drug.....weren't we told that we MAY or MAY NOT absorb all of a time released drug?? It's been so long since my preop stuff that I can't remember! Also, it is a capsule but the instructions say that you can break it open and sprinkle on a spoonful of apple sauce. Do you think this would help me absorb more of it?? Any experience or knowledge is greatly appreciated Kim

Hey Kim, I would think that if you opened the time released cap and sprinkled the contents on applesauce that you would be able to absorb more of it. TeAnn is a nurse too and has had the surgery (I am preop) so ask her opinion also when you see her...or shoot her an email. Beth

I have to do this to my Actigall, and so far no gallbladder problems. I dont see whay not since the instructions say you can do this, give it a shot and see. I find sprinking it on SF pudding makes it go down alot better! Love Ya! Sandy

Beth, Not yet. I haven't heard a word from the one application I sent in online. Now, my daughter is defintely moving out at the end of the month and I hope they decide to go on and get married first, so if they do, once I get her married off and moved out , I can have my life back to go to Birmingham and do some serious looking!
