Hello everyone.
I'd appreciate your input on an important project underway.
We're going through some final plans on feature updates and I'd love to hear your input on what features you'd like us to include.
In particular, when we start allowing individuals to create and own their own forums on OH, what functionality would you like to see with that? For reference, I'm sure that several of you are familiar with yahoo groups, msn groups, etc. What features do you most like and least like regarding these or similar groups?
Next, once people are able to create their own groups, what protocols would you recommend we implement/enforce regarding using our state forums as means of promotion. Ex: what, specifically, would vs. wouldn't constitute harassment, say, of people being too overzealous in pestering people with how excited they are about the new group they just created and want everyone to join?
At OH, we're all about YOU.
Sooooo....... please share your input.
We're interested.

My reply:
Forum creator having moderator privileges
Banning privileges
Invite privileges
"Private" forum privileges (to keep some from "lurking")
Moderators from other forums not having access to moderate "own" forums
Also would love to see a feature where a poster of ANY forum can "edit" or "remove" their OWN messages.
Would love to see a "squelch" function to completely "ignore" some users (where their posts do not show up at all).
Would love to see a "3 strike" rule implemented - meaning, for example, if 30% of the board hits the "trouble" button that the person who is creating "trouble" is "censored" until their posts are approved. If after a period of time the "moderation" is removed - and the poster returns to poor behavior that the third 30% vote excuses them from that particular forum.
Would love to see OH flag IP addresses to eliminate users from creating multiple fictitious accounts.
Would love to see the "rules" enforced consistently across the boards (ALL of the rules). I.e., "NO personal attacks," "NO 'religious' discussions, PLEASE!" and most of all - "Repeat offenders may be reported to their ISP and/or banned from this site."
That is to name a few....
