Hi, I am, like, total...
Hi,
I am, like, totally new to WLS. I mean, obviously I have heard about it, but it has not been anything I thought I would do. I have bottomed out, though, and I have to do something because I cannot lose the weight by myself. Also, my health is depreciating (hypertension, edema, high cholesterol, stent in heart, etc.). The surgery is scary, but continuing on as I am is even scarier.
I am hoping the group will let me be a part of it also. I feel so isolated, at times, because of my body. I need the support. Anyway, I hope I will be able to encourage others also. I should be having surgery in July, if all goes as plan.
Take care,
Jaycee
Welcome Jaycee!
I totally understand where you're coming from. I was the same way...I came to realize I could not lose the weight by myself. I am on the 6 months supervised diet and have gained 10 lbs. because diets do not work. This is the only option I have. And you're right...continuing on this way is scarier than the surgery.
Who is your doctor?
Hugs,
Joni
Hi Jaycee,
It just depends on your insurance and how well the surgeon's office staff know their business. I did not have the problems some have encountered either. Mine just took a little longer to get all my required testing done, my surgeon wanted beforehand. My surgeon has a exceptional staff and actually an exceptional nurse who took care of everything and she didnt sit around twiddling her thumbs. I just love her, she really went above and beyond the call of duty and she does that for every patient, not just myself. I cant add anything the others havent already if you need any help just post! I dont know anything about the surgeon's you posted.
Elspeth!
