Nice photos Beth! My original hair color before it started going grey, was THAT color! in the summer, if I got out in the sun alot it would turn strawberry blonde. Now it is a copper red thanks to Loreal! I went drastic and DARK for a change, everyone else likes it, but Im not so sure I do
Just curious if you know anything about Llyod Noland Hospital's benefits? I guess I can go online and check them out. Llyod Noland has opened up a Long Term Care floor at our local hospital I am thinking of applying for a position with them. I will still be here in T town, just work for Llyod Noland. Birmingham pays so much more than here, my second option is applying at UAB West. If I can get a decent job in Birmingham, I am going to move out of this town and prolly move closer to Leeds and the Pell City area. Any advice on Birmingham hospitals?
Love,
Sandy
Hey Sandy,
Well...as you can see I have had the dark brown hair and red hair...LOL
Thanks for the compliments. I work for Brookwood Medical Center. They have good benefits...you can choose their medical plan through Tenet, I think it's underwritten by Aetna or BCBS of Alabama(whom I am fighting like a wild cat with). Other than WLS I think BCBS is great. They have Dental through Cigna, I haven't had any problem with, vision coverage, Long term and short term disability, flexible spending, ect...if you are interested in Brookwood they have a web site also. I don't know about Llyod Noland but I grew up in Bessemer....I don't want to dog any hospital here though...LOL I went to RN school with some girls who worked for UAB West. I think all hospitals will have some problems however so I won't lean you one way or the other. Good luck in whatever you decide. I do make pretty good salary where I am at. I guess all the Birmingham hospitals are about the same.
Beth
Im just scouring the web and Birmingham news. We have had some nurses go to UAB West, they say you can pretty much get any salary you want, I have checked into it, and it is a good deal for a LPN such as myself. 18.00 plus 4.00 hr shift diff for nights. That was last year, they may not be offering that now, but I do plan to go back and apply again. I should have taken it last year but I wanted to have WLS first, that is the only thing that has kept me at my current job. I will check out the Brookwood website! Thanks... B'ham has sooooooooooo many hospitals to choose from! My nephew is a RN at St. Vincents. I am so lost in B'ham I dont even know where many of these hospitals are. Glad I can google a map at least! Decisions....decisions...ack! I will keep looking at em all, thanks!
Hey girl,
18.00 an hour is great. I didn't make that when I left being an LPN in 2003. WOWWW. I've heard that when they hire you new at the hospital they offer more now and that's great. I know when I left one hospital and went to another they offered me more. It's kinda a great time to be a nurse...ya know???
Good luck,
Beth
P.S. I know that if you get a formal offer from one hospital and then go to Brookwood they will match the salary for you to come there if they have a job opening. Just thought I'd let you know. Brookwood isn't all the way in Birmingham either.
Is Brookwood where you are having your surgury?.. I want to move up that way now, but I cant leave my daughter until she is either married or financially stable, which looks like marriage is my only answer. .. Im checking into the one here that Llyod Noland is hiring for, for right now and will see how it goes. Cross your fingers, rub Buddahs belly, chant, like candles, pray, I do not care, I just hope I can get a better job!
cool I have never lived up that way, I just remember the area when I would have to drive to Georgia every week. I would pass through that area and I always thought it would be a nice place to live in, if I wanted to work in Birmingham, which I do! There is no way to get ahead stuck here in T town, they just do not have enough competition down here to offer any real money or benefits.
