Computer Question

Those of you who are smart with computers, I've got a quick question for you. When I go to my WordPerfect, for some reason, the letters are HUGE and I can't get it sized down to a normal size. If I try to open up a file that was done in a normal size, the letters are so big I have to pull it to the left and the right to even read it. When I try to type something new, I try to get the lettering small, but it clicks right back to the GIGANTIC print. What on earth am I doing wrong????? Help! I dont know a thing about Wordperfect, sorry. My word pad is screwy at times. I have alot of geneology files I can not open for some reason. I keep getting a word pad error. I NEED these files. I just think I am going to have to store them on my MSN group, and then download them again when I can afford a new computer. Mine is going on 6 years and I am still using Windows 98 for crying out loud! It has almost seen better days. Wish I could help. Love, Sandy
