Filing my 2nd appeal
I recieved my denial of appeal letter in the mail Saturday. I'm not sure if everyone here knew or not but I got a lawyer to fight with me because BCBS of Alabama tried to say I didn't have 3 years of history of morbid obesity. Well, I went all over the world practically and got medical records from 10 years back...so they couldn't come up with that one on this denial of appeal. I am not trough fighting. I am filing a second appeal. I am still doing weigh****chers, but I have done nothing but Yo-Yo all the way around. It stinks. Keep me in your thoughts as I fight this. I will have surgery....I might not get approved until the 6 month diet is over but I will make sure they approve me. No more bull from BCBS saying I haven't been morbidly obese for 3 years..they have all the paperwork and proof.
Thanks for the support.

I just dont get BCBS! I was told I only needed 6 months of diets. I wonder why they are making you do 3 years worth? My coworker with the SAME insurance plan as I have, just different surgeons was NOT required to show ANY history of diets! I dont get it. I know there are different plans but they should have a standard requirement for all plans and not make a select few jump through even more hoops than needed. I am glad you are fighting them, hang in there. You will win in the end!

Hey Sandy,
BCBS isn't saying 3 years worth of diets...heck, i have that. They do want 6 months of physcian supervised weight loss program (which I have too). I am doing weigh****chers ....again, I started back in February. What they are saying about the 3 years is that you have to have a history of being morbidly obese with a BMI over 40 or under 40 with co morbs for at least 3 years. They tried to say I didn't have that 3 years of history. So ...I came back with 10 years of medical records. HA...LOL
Thanks for the support,
