Quote of the Day
"The willingness to accept responsibility for one's own life is the source from which self-respect springs."
-- Joan Didion
I love this quote. Thanks Gisela!
I have spent so much of my life being a "victim" or a "survivor" but I want to take the responsibility to be who I am.
I got some affirmation cards and the one I pulled yesterday is "I am taking baby steps toward my passionate visionary self."
I love that. Who wants to be a "victim" when you can be a "passionate visionary self!" And I am taking baby steps, but I am taking steps!
I'm working on my spiritual healing and am seeking tranquility.
And it's so nice to be here among friends! I'm so glad you all have joined me here!
And now I'm going to go to bed....really. I went ahead and posted the Quote of the Day since it's after midnight and I might sleep late. I've been trying to get in the bed since around 4pm and now it's 8 hours later! You'd think I really liked being on the internet, wouldn't you?
I love you all! Thank you for walking beside me on my journey!
Joni
Im done being a victim myself. You can only hang onto so much and tolerate so much before you can see the forest for the trees, so to speak. If other's would accept responsibility for their deeds, words and actions , our world would be a much nicer place... of course the other's who seem to get kicks out of wreaking havoc on others, without taking responsibilty are the ones who will wreak the havoc of karma, what goes around defintely comes around, it just all takes time. In the end, it's all gravy as my daughter would say...
Love Ya!

Good morning Ladies! Joni, this is so true for me today. I got up and got dressed this morning (Casual Friday).....looked at myself in the Mirror in size 9 jeans and a cute purple tank/tshirt combo.....felt really fat because the sleeves are shorter than what I usually wear and my arms are flappin'.....so I thought about changing clothes, but then I took out my before picture that I carry in my purse turned right back around kissed myself in the mirror and said, "I am going to love you today". And you know what??? I have self respect today!
Here's to claiming our lives as our own today
Love you all,
Kim
Bravo! That's great! If I had a size 9 ANYTHING, I would be going around to strangers saying, "Do you know what size these jeans are?! They are a 9! A NINE!"
I did that one time in a dressing room in a department store. I was trying on clothes and saw my disgusting fat thighs and big gut hanging down and felt awful and then I thought, "These are MY thighs, this is MY stomach and I choose to love them." Then I patted my thighs and went on my way. It was a very powerful moment.
Self-respect...the most elusive, but most important thing.
Love,
Joni
