Aetna?

I see Aetna covers RNY for people like me, but I'd strongly prefer to get the band. Has anyone gotten the band with Aetna even though they didn't fit Aetna's band qualifications? (i.e. being too high risk for the RNY?) Thank you, Beverly

I cannot have the band or rny, nissan wrap, barrettes make them unsuitable, too much risk of gerd, and the pouch part is wrapped around my esoph to stop the gerd and is not available, so Aetna will be approving me for a DS. very rare that they do, but I have a strong union and a mega employer that is insisting I get suitable treatment. I also have a secretary of defense handling my tricare appeal for the same reasons. plus a service connected disability that also bans those too surgeries. u mention rny too risky, the band proceedure isnt much less. and a good surgeon wouldnt note the difference.
