Prayers Please!!!!

I just got off of the phone with my surgeon's office and she is submitting my request to BCBS of IL today. This will be the first submission to my new insurance that claims to pay for WLS when medically necessary. I spent all of last year fighting my former insurance company to no avail. My co-morbid conditions are much worse this year than last, and I am not sure that I have the time to wait much longer. PLEASE say a prayer for an approval so that I can get on with my life...for me and my family. Thank you for the support! Dawn

Prayers coming your way!! I sympathize totally. During the year and a half I spent fighting the insurance battle, I developed diabetes, my sleep apnea got much worse, and I had to start cholesterol medication. These folks do realize that your health will get worse, but they hope to pass you on to another company so they don't have to pay for the medical problems resulting from the weight. Good luck. I think there are several on here who have beaten BCBS of Illinois, I think Donna Chu was one of them, but she had to get a lawyer. I hope your journey is smoother.

I guess that's why I am so aggitated about the whole thing..... It seems that some have absolutely no problem...."approved in 5 days", etc... and others had to fight tooth and nail, some not being approved at all. I am hoping that the Medicare ruling will help. Thank you for your well wishes! Dawn
