5 years of proof..input needed
Hello all!
I'm hoping for some input here. I recently discovered that I had to have 5 consecutive years of proof of obesity. I was told that I needed to get records from 2001. Well, miraculously I managed to do that. However, I don't have anything showing for 2004. Fortunately, I never needed to go to the dr. in 2004. Will the insurance company, Blue Cross Blue Shield, take into consideration I've been super morbidly obese since I was in high school. I'm now 23. I have records going back to 1999, even stating Morbid Obesity, I have high blood pressure that is not being controlled by medication alone. I wonder if this missing year would affect my approval? Has anyone had a comparable experience? Any input is welcomed.

Hi April,
It sounds like your insurance was a bit rougher than mine. I had to have two years of medical documentation, but like you I was in school and didn't have documentation from 2004 but did from 2005. I tried to fill in the gaps as best as possible, explaining that I am only 25 and have been in college which is why I don't have documentation from 2004. I got denied and am now being banded in mexico on March 10th! Hopefully you will have better luck. Just try to get a good clearance letter approved by your doctor to fill in the gaps. My coworker did that and he got approved, so I guess his was better than mine. Good luck!
