Tricare Standard Question

Can anyone tell me......if you have used tricare Standard to cover Laporscopic RNY.......what did your share of the bill end up being? I have Tricare Prime at this time....however, they say because the local Navy base performs this service, I have to have it done there, and that they will not give me a referral. Well, the problem with that is there is a 2 year wait. So I have been told that with standard, I dont need a referral but will be required to cover some of the charges....... which is fine by us, aslong as its not into the thousands. I am only looking to get a rough idea of what my shae of the expense would be. I fully understand that every patient encurs different charges. Thanks for any and all help!! Hugs! Terri

call tricare and they will tell u precisly, depends a lot on your doctor participation level too. they will look it up, hopefully next month after the Secretary of defense finishes my appeal for DS. I will tell you, no more than 3k will u spend in a year for health care for the family.
