Aetna Aetna Bo-Bett-Nah Getting the run around!!

(I posted this on the main board also....) I am in the waiting stage with Aetna PPO NAP..... I have called every day for two weeks, and every day I get a different answer or I get hung up on. I am not really sure what to do... Today when I called, they said it was imaged in the system and waiting for someone to look at it and that it would probably take 28 days for them to reach a decision. Is this right? My surgery is scheduled for Oct 24...the surgeon's office said i could have it sooner, if I can get insurance to hurry up! I am just so frustrated! If anyone knows who i should ask for when I call, I would really appreciate it. I have been calling the number on the frong of my card, and talking to the precertification department. Thanks a bunch for any help anyone can give me!

I'm surprised your surgeon's office gave you a date w/out approval. Anyway, if I were you I would keep calling them. Call them twice a day if you have too. I know it's frustrating but this is your life they have in they're hands and if it takes getting on the nerves of a few customer service reps to get the answer you need, then so be it. Be polite and if they hang up on you then just call again and get someone else. Good luck to you!

Call and explain that your waiting to get surgery and really need it due to health issues. Ask them if there is anyway they can push the paper work through for you. I did this the first time and the nice lady said sure, not a problem. She pulled the paper work off the computer and put it into the hands of whoever needed to review it. I was turned down but at least I got turned down faster then having to wait so many weeks. Donna 338/178
