GHI/BCBS......INTRACORP!!!!!!?????????!!!

Hello. My insurance in GHI and BCBS through the NYC Benefits. I am awaiting approval, and got a call from a place called Intracorp. Has anyone dealt with them? I missed the call, and can't call bac****il MOnday morning, but I was just wondering why they are calling me when they are not my insurance company. Thanks.

A lot of insurance companies rely on health care management companies to actually review claims and determine medical necessity. For example, my insurance company is Benefit Management, Inc. which is based on Kansas, but they will use a health care management company out of Florida to review my claim for medical necessity for bariatric surgery. Just wanted to let you know that Intracorp handles the screening for medical necessity for the NYC Health Benefits Program. And, the call was to let me know I was approved. News is good.

Thanks again Laura. I spoke to Intracorp again today, because although I had received verbal approval, no letter has been received by me or my doctor. So, today, I asked them to fax it, which they did, and my official date for surgery is August 10th. A little push never hurts, I guess.
