Medicaid...

I was just wondering if anyone has been able to get RNY or any weight loss surgery through medicaid anywhere or even better specifically in the state of florida? Any help would really mean lots to me thanks guys

Hi Jean. I have read on a lot of message boards about people who had this surgery approved by Medicaid in various states, but I don't know the specifics. You might try posting on the Florida board for more information. Also, if you visit the message board for your state you can see a list of insurers who have approved the surgery and get more information. Here is a link to the list for Florida. Hi Jenn, Yes, there are surgeons in FL that are accepting Medicaid. My angelette lives in FL and she has medipass (medicaid) and is going through Dr. Samuel Cox in Ft Lauderdale. I believe that Dr. Barry Haicken in Clearwater also accepts Medicaid. Also, there is a possibility that Dr. William Overcash - he's in Ocala (352) 368-2828, might accept medicaid (I'm not sure).
