Has anyone changed insurance or buying secondary insurance?

has anyone changed insurance to find one that covers weightloss surgery? Im trying to change my insurance or find a secondary insurance. If so , what company did you go through"? Is the monthly premium extremely high? How much did it cover?

I changed insurance companies to cover WLS. I had optimum choice and have now changed to Kaiser. Fortunately my company offered both. I tried to purchase an individual policy from three different insurers and was denied each time because my BMI was too high... I even contacted an insurance broker who said that there was only 1 agency in the area with a lienient weight req at that was set at 260. It really depends on the state where you live. I know someone who lives in DC who applied for BCBS and they didn't ask her any health questions and she was later approved for WLS and is now 3 months Post op. I couldn't do it as an MD res.
