Got a job offer

Well, I got my final denial from Seton Health Plan July 1st. The meeting with the benefits review committee was pathetic. My attorney was not allowed to speak. I started job hunting yesterday. I knew where I wanted to work. The other hospital group here covers WLS. I got an offer today. Hopefully I'll be able to get the surgery by early next year. Caryl

I'm sorry they turned you down again but at least your not giving up and your going forward with finding another job and getting approved through them. You'll get your surgery, hang in there I don't understand why your lawyer was not allowed to speak. That seems rather silly. What is having a lawyer present if he/she can't speak. Donna 338/201 -137

That's exactly what we thought. I don't think the company was being fair. I could have gone through the meeting without my attorney's presentation, but decided not to. I left and they sent my denial out the same day. I guess I could have stayed and made my own presentation, but my feeling was that they were dead set on this course and nothing I could say would make any difference. I sent my letter of resignation to my boss yesterday. I explained exactly why I was leaving. I hope she passes it on to the higher-ups at the company. My new job has a sign-on bonus, much better insurance, and is offering me the same pay. I'm pleased with my decision, though nervous. Thanks for your support. Caryl
