I may have to give up!

I have been trying to figure out a way to have lapband surgery since jan of this year and it looks like i may have to throw in the towel. My employer selected an exclusion so i cant be approved. My credit it to bad to get financed and i don't have a home to get equity or retirement to put up against the loan. My family doesn't have the money to lend me. Im kind of scared now that my health is falling apart and basically i have no means to help myself. I'm extremely sad today.

I am so sorry to hear how hopeless you feel. I am in a similar situation. I just exhausted my appeals with my plan. It is a self funded plan and my employer could have chosen to make an exception and didn't. They string my doctor along with vague claims that they will begin covering WLS at some point in the future. My credit is ok, but I have too much debt to borrow more for surgery. I don't have enough equity in my house. I am preparing to change employers. I am applying for positions at another hospital whose insurance does cover WLS. I hope you can find the energy to look into other insurance or another job. I hate to see another person suffer the consequences of inadequately treated morbid obesity. Good luck. Caryl
