I've just been wondering if there is a difference between morbid obesitity, and super morbid obesity as far as insurance exclusions are concerned.

I don't know but that is a very good question. My insurance policy also has an exclusion for obesity/morbid obesity and I am considered super morbidly obese so I would love to know if this would make a difference. Please let me know if you find out any information about it. Thanks. Tammy

If you have an exclusion for MORBID OBESITY, they are considering ALL BMI's over 40. The only time that I'm aware of that being super morbidly obese would be a factor at all, is if you were trying to get approved for the DS surgery rather than a RNY or lap band.
