Preferred Care! Help!

I had everything set up with Dr. Thad Boss in Rochester NY. I had my Nutrition appt. set for 6/6/05, My Psych for 8/05 and my seminar appt for 4/20/05. I had my paperwork filled out by my primary dr. to go to the ins. co. On 4/19 I get a call from Tammy at the dr. Thad Boss's office saying they have to cancel me due to my ins. had a policy change on 4/1. I have been trying to get info on the policy change since 4/19. I finally have been told I have to go through a 30 week program at the U of R in Rochester and be evaluated before "they", Preferred Care will even consider weight Loss surgery. Help! Does anyone have advice on how to avoid this 30 week "hang up" ? I kept getting the run around by Preferred Care forever. My Primary Dr. made 3 phone calls to them before we got a answer about the policy change. Can I fight it? How? Etc??? Help! Thank you in advance- Julie
