Have you beat the "12 month physician supervised diet plan"

I am in the beginning steps of getting approval. I am going through a bariatric center in Yipsilanti MI. They are telling me Weyco is very strick and requires a 12 consecutive month diet plan that has been supervised by a physician! I am really disguisted as I have been overweight all my life and have attempted every diet available and ended up gaining more than I lost every time! Has anyone out there gotten around the documentation?
