Insurance Change HELP!!!

My husband is changing jobs so we will be losing benefits there. But, this is actually a good thing because they have an exclusion against the WLS surgery. I can now get on with my insurance that does cover it, I am just worried that they won't approve it because I will have the doctor send the approval letter as soon as I get my new insurance. Has anyone ever gone through this? I have United Healthcare, and it does say coverage starts immediately. Does anyone foresee a problem? Thanks for your help! I guess just waiting over a year of researching and thinking about it has me going in circles!

I changed insurances with my Job in Feb this year to United Healthcare and I sumitted for approval in April and I got approved right away in about a week. I didn't have any problems. Good luck

Make sure your plan under United Healthcare actually covers it. Some of their plans don't. But if they do, you can send in all your paperwork as soon as your policy is active.
