got my denial

Well, I got the official word that my denial letter is on the way. We expected this as my insurance excludes surgery. Time to get started on the appeals. Time for my attorneys to earn their money. Wish me luck. Caryl

Good luck with your appeal Caryl. Don't give up. My insurance (BCBS of TN) also has an exclusion to WLS. I haven't applied yet but I am in the process of gathering up my medical records. My state is trying to pass a bill that would make insurance companies have to offer WLS in accordance with NIH guidelines on obesity. Maybe you should check with your state's legislature to see if they have or are trying to pass a similar bill. Good luck. Tammy

Good luck Caryl. The waiting is the toughest thing that I've ever been through. My insurance approves RNY but not lapband. I've been through appeals and am I'm hoping that Gary Viscio can do something for me. In the mean time I just wait. Cathy P
