THIS IS JUST TOO COOL!!

Good evening all!! I just got the most AWESOME news today. After emailing a complaint a few days ago to The Pennsylvania Attorney General's office, they called me at work today. A representative from their office will be sitting in on my second level grievance hearing on 04/25/05. How COOL is that?!!! Kelly

Hi Cathy, Basically, my biggest complaint is that my insurance is using terminology to deny me that is not written anywhere in their policy or internal guidelines. I have it all journaled in my profile if you'd like to check it out. Best of luck to you, Kelly

I understand..Anthem says in my handbook that they do cover wls. Then they sent me a policy that was no where in my handbook that said the lapband was experimental.

Hi again, Cathy! Don't give up -- that's what your insurance wants you to do. Find out who you can contact in Ohio and at least ask about this. In my case, I contacted two agencies: the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance (who said they cannot get involved until I have exhausted my appeals) and the Office of the Attorney General. Hi Caryl, I'm glad to know my message gives you hope. I was so excited when I posted that message (still am too ). In all honesty, I basically complained to those agencies to vent and voice my concerns -- never thinking that it would come to this....but I'm sure happy that I'll have someone there with a neutral perspective on things.
