Teachers!!!

Is anyone who works in the education department or an educator know wherther or not if their school sysytem has an exclusion on WLS? If you are a teacher or work in the education area please tell me which insurance cover WLS!

I teach in Louisiana, and we are self insured. At the moment, we do not have a WLS exclusion. But this is the first year that BCBS has had our insurance plan in a long time. I think they were required to not give us less coverage than before on their bid. Who knows what they will do May 1, 2005

I am a teacher in Iowa. I am sure insurance policies differ from state to state and district to district. Our old policy did not exclude it, but they found ways to delay it so they did not have to cover it. We started a new policy in July of 04. It is excluded in that policy.

I teach in Orlando, FL and our plan is self funded and excluded. I'm actually trying to find a loophole for my friend that desperately needs it. I'll keep you posted as I find out more.... Dawn
